In\u00a0those days I\u00a0used\u00a0margins of the pages of schoolbooks as a drawing board and now and then I couldn&#8217;t resist the\u00a0wallpaper\u00a0of\u00a0my own room.<\/p>\n<p>When I turned seventeen my interest began to shift towards\u00a0oil painting. Especially after having seen a major exhibition in Arnhem in the mid Eighties by the famous Dutch Magical Realist painter\u00a0Carel Willink. His paintings inspired me to buy a set of oils and soon after that I started to make\u00a0my first oil painting, secretly hoping it would turn out just as good as Carel&#8217;s paintings. Of course I failed but all through my studies I kept on drawing and painting.<\/p>\n<p>The urge to paint\u00a0has never left\u00a0me. Although I have a busy job and young children I recently decided to convert my old attic into a studio.
